1984 Mercedes Benz 300SD need help rebuilding vacuum pump can not find diagram to install the repair kit?
I have never done one but with a few fairly common tools you can usually do just about any minor repair. First, remove and clean the pump. I still use gas in a pan and a parts brush, although you need to remember gas is volatile. Dry with compressed air. Prepair a clean work area and disassemble the pump laying out the parts in order as you remove them. Be very careful to keep things in order as this is your “blue print” for reassembly. After things are all laid out, clean the individual parts and replace the worn / old parts with the new parts from the kit. Then simply reassemble things in the reverse order. You can do even automatic transmissions with this method. Just go slow and keep things in order. You could also take it to a good auto repair shop and pay someone to do it. Maybe buy a rebuilt?
